Fishing

Here at SALMON RUN you SET YOUR OWN COURSE and fish as you see fit. You will have your own self-guided experience. You may come and go fishing as you see fit. You might want to get up early and go fishing or sight seeing, before breakfast, breakfast is between 7:00 & 8:00 AM, then go out again and fish all day, we pack you a lunch, until dinner at 6:00 PM. Then you can go out again after dinner. We would like you to inform us when you go out early or late and be back at the dock by 9:00 PM so your fish can be processed. It’s all up to you.

Of course, the first night you are here we will discuss and show you how we feel is the best way to fish, from baiting your hooks, the right pole to use, we furnish all this unless you want to bring your own tackle, and how to troll for salmon and rig up and bottom fish for halibut.

We have a special way, used by everybody around here, to cut and hook your herring (bait) so it will spin just right and attract the salmon. We will show you how if you don’t already know.

After giving you instructions on how to operate your skiff, 4 to a skiff, and going over the Coast Guard safety rules, we will set you off on your fishing adventures, but not until we have told you where you might expect those trophies that are waiting for you. As a added help we will accompany you in our own skiffs to get you started in the right manor. Once we believe you are on the right track we will leave you to do your own thing, but will be back checking on you as the day progresses to see if you need any help, more bait, or tackle, of any kind.

Those that want to troll for salmon will be shown where to go and those that want to fish for halibut will be accompanied in our skiffs and shown where we have had good fishing and how to anchor up for bottom fishing.
